Après avoir obtenu un bachelor en beaux-arts et en histoire de l'art en Écosse, Karen E. Turnbull a obtenu des diplômes de niveau maîtrise en traduction du français et de l'italien vers l'anglais auprès du Chartered Institute of Linguists de Londres. Elle a traduit de nombreux livres et textes publiés sur les beaux-arts, la philosophie, l'architecture, la critique littéraire, la sociologie, les études humaines et les questions environnementales. Depuis plus de vingt ans, elle vit en France où elle a créé sa propre micro-entreprise de traductions. Elle pratique la peinture et la sculpture pendant son temps libre.

After completing her BA(Hons) in fine art and history of art in Scotland, Karen E. Turnbull later went on to obtain Masters-level diplomas in translation from French and Italian into English from the Chartered Institute of Linguists in London. She has translated numerous published books and texts on fine arts, philosophy, architecture, literary criticism, sociology, human studies and environmental issues. For the past 20-plus years she has lived in France where she has set up her own micro-business providing translations, and paints and sculpts in her free time.
